Who doesn’t love Giraffes? The tallest mammal on the planet is iconic as it glides gracefully across the savanna seemingly floating on the warm African winds. Recently however some subspecies of these gentle giants may be gliding into extinction.

West Africa and Rothschild’s Giraffes are facing dangerously declining numbers due to habitat loss, disease poaching and big game hunting, driven primarily by American trophy hunters. It is called the silent extinction as the numbers of Giraffes is now lower than that of Elephants
